Dune Case is close to crowdfunding the Dune Pro, a standard PC case that unsubtly mimics Apple's airflow-centric design. On the outside, it's basically a Mac Pro without Apple's logo - you'll need to buy a 'Dice Y' sound dampening cover to get the full look, but the stainless steel frame and aluminum enclosure are uncannily similar.
Unlike the Mac Pro, customization is the key in Dune Pro. For starters, the case supports Mini ITX, ATX, mATX, EATX, and EEB motherboards. In terms of graphics, Dune Pro can accommodate the latest Nvidia RTX 2080 TI or Quadro RTX 8000 and AMD Radeon VII. For water-cooling, the case can handle 120mm, 240mm or 360mm AIO radiator with fans.
The chassis is made of a 3mm thick high-grade aluminium sandblasted with fine beads for achieving a “near-perfect anodised surface”. The stainless steel frame acts as a handle and feet on the Dune Pro.

Talking about I/O, the PC case equips seven PCI slots, three hard drive enclosures, five SSD trays, and a motherboard extender. On the top, two USB C(3.1 Gen 1) connectors are present.
So what if you want the look of a Mac Pro and the versatility of a home-built PC? The answer is simple, get a Dune Pro, a Mac-like case that's designed for consumer hardware. At the time of writing the Dune Pro is not available for purchase, with pre-orders being due to start on October 21st via Kickstarter.
The company has also mentioned the existence of a sound dampening accessory that will help with the acoustics of the case called Dice Y cover. The cover is basically an array of dices intersecting to form a “Y” structure.
If you’re interested to purchase the Dune Pro, the case will be up for pre-order starting 21st October through Kickstarter. Also, we will have to wait to see if the company will face any legal consequences from Apple for ripping off the Mac Pro’s design.
So, what do you think of the Dune Pro? Let us know in the comments.

Kit Details
The kit mounts in the same way as the G5 kit using shelf mountings and lower case mountings to fix the tray in place inside the Mac Pro casing.
The rear of the Pro kit fits as shown above to allow a full ATX board to go into the Mac Pro casing. For full kit details please download the instructions – note that we make this in two variants (like the G5 kits) of “Standard” or “Deluxe”. The deluxe variation has an acetal sheet drive holder for holding up to three 2.5″ drives in place beneath the motherboard. For details of this please see the TNG tray notes which explains how the holder works.
There are some compromises you will need to note when fitting an ATX board into these cases:
(1) You will lose the original hard drive mounts as you will have to cut the top shelf to allow the motherboard to fit. This is inevitable unfortunately.
(2) Some (later) Mac Pros also have an internal bottom shelf and fitting our next generation type kits will mean you need to cut out that bottom shelf to be able to access the lower case screws – IF your cases is one of this type and you do not want to remove this bottom shelf then please let us know as we might be able to sell you a slightly different kit which avoids having to remove this lower shelf element.
